Eaglesfield Paddle 5 & 10K
Welcome to the Paddle 5K and 10K 2026. Two undulating road races around the scenic villages south of Cockermouth with fantastic mountain views and a friendly atmosphere. We are excited for the third running of the event after a successful two years and we are hoping to attract more new and experienced runners. All money raised will be donated to the Paddle Community Association to buy equipment for the school.
Registration is open from 9:30am to 10.30am and will be in the school playground (or inside the hall if it is wet) to collect your race numbers. There is a 10-15 min jog/walk to the start from the school so please allow time to get there. 10K Start - 11.00am, 5K Start - 11.10am. Race briefings will be held at the start before each race.
For a cooler day plan there will be boxes at the start for any clothes you would like to take off and not run in. These boxes will be transported back to the school and anything placed into them are left at your own risk. Any items not collected will be donated to charity after 1 week post the event.
For the hot weather plan (as we saw last year!) the rainbow sprinkler will be waiting for you at the finish and volunteers armed with water pistols on the route! There will be a water station at ~3km/8km mark and at the finish. Refreshments including drink, baps and cakes will be available for purchase.
The minimum age to enter is 12 for 5k and 16 for the 10k. A £2 discount is available at purchase for affiliated members.
Parking will be in the school car park and up the Eaglesfield road towards the church. To keep runners safe, marshals will support anyone wanting to leave the carpark before the race has finished. Please car share where possible. Headphones are not permitted. Results - The event will be timed by Timing Up North Results.
If the event does not sell out there will be a limited number of entries on the day at a +£5 surcharge on the entry fee.
