The Deutschlandlauf is an epic endurance challenge covering 1,300 kilometers across Germany in 20 stages, from the island of Sylt to the Zugspitze. This event revives the spirit of the first Deutschlandlauf, mirroring its original length and the number of running days. It demands endurance, experience, and a fighting spirit, promising a tough but rewarding journey.
The Route: 20 Stages Through Germany
- Stage 1: Sylt - Enge-Sande (56 km) - August 22, 2026. The grand start from the North Sea island of Sylt to the mainland.
- Stage 2: Enge-Sande - Rendsburg (83 km) - August 23, 2026. A long stage through Schleswig-Holstein to the Kiel Canal.
- Stage 3: Rendsburg - Henstedt-Ulzburg (72 km) - August 24, 2026. Heading towards Hamburg through North German lowlands.
- Stage 4: Henstedt-Ulzburg - Wistedt (75 km) - August 25, 2026. Continuing south through the Lüneburg Heath.
- Stage 5: Wistedt - Hoya (74 km) - August 26, 2026. Pure Lower Saxony, through moorlands and small villages.
- Stage 6: Hoya - Lemförde (73 km) - August 27, 2026. Towards North Rhine-Westphalia, with varied landscapes and the first hills.
- Stage 7: Lemförde - Kattenvenne (65 km) - August 28, 2026. A shorter but intense stage through the Münsterland region.
- Stage 8: Kattenvenne - Lünen (74 km) - August 29, 2026. Through the Ruhr area, blending industrial culture with nature. This marks the halfway point for the "Halbe Härte A" runners.
- Stage 9: Lünen - Remscheid (62 km) - August 30, 2026. Entering the Bergisches Land with its first real climbs.
