Death by 5k is returning to Albuquerque! Join us at Balloon Fiesta Park for our signature 24-hour running challenge.
Event Schedule
The event kicks off on June 14, 2025, at 8:00 AM and continues until June 15. Participants will run ten 5ks, starting at intervals of 2.5 hours. Here’s the start times for each 5k:
- First 5k: 8:00 AM
- Second 5k: 10:30 AM
- Third 5k: 1:00 PM
- Fourth 5k: 3:30 PM
- Fifth 5k: 6:00 PM
- Sixth 5k: 8:30 PM
- Seventh 5k: 11:00 PM
- Eighth 5k: 1:30 AM
- Ninth 5k: 4:00 AM
- Tenth 5k: 6:30 AM

What to Expect
This challenge is designed for those looking to push their limits. Expect physical fatigue, sleep deprivation, and night running. Participants must provide their own headlamps or flashlights. You can rest between 5ks either in your vehicle or in tents set up on the adjacent grass fields.
Amenities
Prepared food will be provided at various times, and snacks, water, and Gatorade will be available throughout the event. Each participant will receive an event shirt and a coveted coffin award for finishers!
Registration
Registration for this event is limited to 175 participants. If spots become available, we will open a waitlist. Registration fees are $152.50, increasing to $175.43 after October 31.
