Charlie Kilshaw Memorial 5 Mile Race
This race is in memory of Charlie Kilshaw, who typified the spirit of Garscube Harriers. He was a warm and friendly man, always willing to help others, and represented the club in many races from 2000 to 2012. Charlie's enthusiasm, determination, and effort endeared him to all.
Race Details
The Charlie Kilshaw memorial race is a 5-mile event held around the reservoirs at the Milngavie Waterworks, Milngavie Road, Strathblane, Glasgow, G62 8LQ. The course comprises two loops of the reservoirs - one larger loop and one smaller loop - and finishes at the James M Gale memorial. A GPX route is available.

Registration and Number Collection
Registration and number collection take place at the James M Gale memorial (what3words-///opera.privately.themes). Numbers are issued at registration and there are no entries on the night. Registration is located about a 10-minute walk from the start line.
Age Restrictions
Runners must be 15 or older on the day. There are two race categories: a junior race for under-17s and a senior race for all other entrants; both compete over the same five-mile course. Athletes may enter as male, female, or non-binary.
Parking
Parking is provided at Nuffield Health, Milngavie, G62 8HJ (what3words-///hunter.rests.spins), in a cordoned area. This is about a 15-minute walk to registration. Please car share where possible.
Toilets/Changing Facilities
A public toilet is available near registration. There are no changing or shower facilities.
Entry Fees
The entry fee is £12 with a £2 discount for members of Scottish Athletics. All funds raised will be donated to the club’s chosen charities for the year. The event has 250 total places.
Prizes
There will be prizes for both the junior and senior race: Junior race – male, female and non-binary; Senior race – male, female and non-binary.
