The Cedar Island 5K Swim is the must-do swim event of the open water season, voted one of the Top 100 swims in America. The counter-clockwise course goes with the current in the beautiful back bays of Avalon, NJ.
This event is celebrating its 17th year and is recognized by the World Open Water Swimming Association as one of America's Top Open Water Swims. All proceeds from the race will be donated to SNEAKERS FOR SOLDIERS.
Athletes receive an XTERRA mesh backpack, choice of a unisex or female style tee shirt, custom event Defeet socks, event swim cap, chip timing, and a custom event finisher towel.
Race Day Details:
- Packet pick up: 7:45 am-9:15 am at Avalon Yacht Club (AYC).
- Parking: Available on 6th, 7th, and 8th Streets, Ocean Drive, and Dune Drive. Jitney shuttles will be available.
- Swim Start: Mass in-water start at 9:40 am.
- Cut-off Time: Mandatory 90-minute cut-off, finishing by 11:10 AM.
- Water Temperature: Typically mid 70s, wetsuit legal.
- Course: Counter-clockwise, with on-water safety patrol.
Awards: Top 5 M/F Overall, Top M/F Masters and Grand Masters, Oldest and Youngest swimmers.
