Sport In Action Carlisle Resolution Runs
The event on Sunday 17 January 2027 is held at Carlisle Racecourse, Durdar Road, Carlisle CA2 4TS. It offers two measured race distances:
- 5K Fully on the racecourse with two laps on good tarmac
- 10K Mostly quiet country roads, generally flat or gently undulating
Both courses are officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers (5K 16/453 and 10K 10/011). The event is fully chip timed and holds a UKA race license for the 2027 season. The 5K remains traffic free on the racecourse including laps of the ambulance track. The 10K mainly uses quiet country roads with good road surfaces and finishes in front of the racecourse grandstand. A new permanent 10K course was planned to be measured in summer 2026; the organisers report the 10K will run at about 95% of the original route due to a local road delay.
Facilities at the venue include toilets, ample parking on the hard stand or opposite field, a baggage lay down area and refreshments. Race numbers and timing chips are issued at registration and a race briefing for both distances takes place before the runs. Safety instructions ask entrants to keep left where traffic is present and to take care at turns; marshals will be positioned at key points. Results are published online shortly after the race. Entrants registering after the event sold out are informed their entry may not include a 2026 medal and may receive an earlier undated medal or no medal if stocks are exhausted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
