Ampthill vs Cancer 5K - 28 June 2026
Ampthill vs Cancer 5K is a community fundraising event held at Great Ampthill Park on 28 June 2026. The main route is a 5 kilometre course that passes through parkland and woods and includes a few hills. A support team will be present on the course.
Event Formats:
- 5 km route around Great Ampthill Park
- Golden Hare Mile for ages 7 to 12
- Mini Hare for ages 6 and under around the cricket pitch
The main 5K is open to participants aged 11 and upwards. The event promotes support for local charities and raises awareness about cancer. Headline sponsors named for 2026 include Dynamic Construction and Wheeler-Electrical. The event is organised by a registered charity in England and Wales (No. 1217357).

Race Details:
5 km: A fun, but challenging 5km route around the beautiful Great Ampthill Park; a mix of classic parkland, woods and a few hills. Don’t panic if you’re not a competitive runner; everyone is welcome (aged 11 upwards) - our support team will cheer you round!
The 'Golden Hare' Mile: We want to inspire the next generation of runners; encouraging everyone to keep moving and stay active. The Golden Hare mile is an event for kids aged 7 to 12 - bring them along and let them run wild!
The 'Mini Hare': Like the Golden Hare, the Mini Hare is a kids race but for the little ones. For ages 6 and under, it's around the cricket pitch - bring the little ones and let them run extra wild!
The event also includes 'The Cooldown' – Family Fun and Live Music.
