Altkönig-Lauf 2026
The MTV Kronberg is organizing the 46th Altkönig-Lauf on Sunday, September 27, 2026. This is a DLV-approved race with options for 10km and 21.1km runs, as well as 1000m and 350m children's races, and 10km walking and Nordic walking.
Start and finish are at the MTV Sports facility in Kronberg.
Taunus-Lauf Challenge
The Altkönig-Lauf is the 3rd event in the Taunus-Lauf Challenge. Participants who complete all three races (Wuzzelauf, Gickellauf, Altkönig-Lauf) will be eligible for the Challenge ranking and receive a finisher's trophy.
Race Details
Main Races
- 21.1 km Half Marathon: Starts at 9:30 AM. For age groups U18 and older. Features approximately 350 meters of elevation gain.
- 10 km Run: Starts at 9:40 AM. For age groups U16 and older. Features approximately 150 meters of elevation gain.
Walking and Nordic Walking
- 10 km: Starts at 9:40 AM. Timing is available, but there is no official ranking.
Children's Races
- 12:00 PM: 350m for age groups U8 and younger.
- 12:10 PM: 1000m for age groups U10 to U14.
Registration
Online registration is open until Wednesday before the race. Late registration is also possible on race day until 30 minutes before each start, with a €5.00 surcharge (except for children's races). Start numbers will be issued on race day.

- 10 km: €16.00
- 21.1 km: €18.00
- 10 km Walking & Nordic Walking: €14.00
- Children's Races: €5.00
Course Information
All routes are on wide forest paths in the Taunus region. The 10 km course is moderately hilly, and the 21.1 km course is more challenging with a highest point of 430m above sea level.
