Welcome to the God's Country Marathon, Half Marathon and Team Relay!
Experience the beauty of Potter County, Pennsylvania, at the God's Country Marathon. This event has been recognized by Runner's World Magazine as one of the "10 toughest marathons" and one of the "best small marathons" in the United States. Enjoy a unique road racing experience with minimal crowds, stunning scenery, excellent service, and a welcoming hometown atmosphere.
The point-to-point course for the Full Marathon begins in the small community of Galeton (elevation 1,300 ft.) and travels west on scenic U.S. Route 6, passing through the heart of the Susquehannock State Forest, towards Coudersport (elevation 1,400 ft.). Mile 14 introduces a challenging three-mile ascent up Denton Hill, crossing the eastern continental divide and reaching an elevation of 2,424 ft. The remainder of the course offers a rewarding downhill finish into historic downtown Coudersport.
For over 50 years, this marathon has drawn runners seeking a challenge from all over the nation.
