The End-To-End Challenge is a 1-day hike of 30+ miles, with over 7,000 feet of cumulative elevation gain over undulating terrain along a tri-state ridge from Berry Pond in Pittsfield State Forest to the northern end of the Taconic Crest Trail at Route 346 in Vermont.
Hikers are supported from beginning to end by volunteers of the Taconic Hiking Club who have held this Challenge for over 50 years.
The event starts at 5:30AM at the break of dawn.
Be aware: This Challenge is for very fit and experienced hikers and will be held rain or shine!
Registration opens on March 1, 2024, at 6:00AM. Registration is $50 and will be capped at 25 entrants. You must be 18 years of age or older. The registration process includes questions to confirm that you are ready for this Challenge along with the recording of other information needed to safely conduct the Challenge.
Your registration is not complete until you have returned your signed event liability release waiver to us by email/mail. The waiver can be found on the End-to-End page of the Taconic Hiking Club's website, found in the 'more information' hyperlink below.
If Challenge Event registration is full, you are welcome to join the Wait List. We are also offering a sign up for Volunteers through the web site if you would like to help.
Your entry fee gives you: the club-published map of the Taconic Crest Trail, sweep support throughout and three support sites where your own provisions will be staged to help with your challenge! There will be water at all the support sites, cookies and fruit at Petersburg Pass and at the end. On completion of the hike, you will be presented with your certificate and patches.

Please Note: Applicants will be asked to include recent hiking or trail running experience to show they can complete the 30 miles and 7000 feet of gain. Applicants that participated in the 2022 Challenge need to apply for the Waiting List initially, if a vacancy opens there is a chance that the applicant will be added to the Participant roster.
