Team Triathlon in Darmstadt has been around since 1994. Back then, the first Zehn Freunde beginner event was still held under the name "Datterich". Only a few teams started at the premiere as part of an event by TU Darmstadt. Darmstadt is thus the cradle of the 10-man team triathlon for companies and circles of friends. Of course, the former rookies, just like the Darmstadt triathlon itself, have evolved over time. With participant numbers of 4000+, the "Datterich" is one of the most highly attended 1-day triathlon events in Germany. Swimming takes place in the 50-meter pool of the DSW Freibad in the middle of Darmstadt. The cycling course is completely closed and runs flat on asphalt. The energy and atmosphere on the cycling course remind some triathletes of a classic cycling race, so it's not surprising that triathlon celebrities like Normann Stadler, Daniela (Sämmler) Bleimehl, or Eintracht legend Thomas Zampach have been involved. The running course runs in 2 laps through the Darmstädter Bürgerpark. The Darmstadt Team Triathlon event is very popular with companies and works sports groups. Many work colleagues, but also many clubs and circles of friends, find out annually on the first weekend of September which is the sportiest company or the sportiest team. Anyone who has not yet experienced the energy of our "Classico" and the sweat and cheers of 3000 triathletes firsthand should definitely check out this spectacle. Thanks to live music, a children's bouncy castle, tarte flambée, and draft beer, the Zehn Freunde Team Triathlon Darmstadt attracts not only participants and visitors from Darmstadt but also from beyond the borders of Hesse. The Zehn Freunde Team Triathlon events are of course also suitable for DTU start pass holders. The so-called sports law approval of the state associations is obtained annually; the approval number is communicated in one of the participant mailings.
