Get Ready for YMCA Northumberland's Rainbow Run, where every step counts and every colour matters! Check in at 8:30 a.m. / Run starts at 9:30 a.m. Join us for the YMCA Northumberland's Rainbow Run, a community and family-oriented celebration of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and its allies, in a welcoming atmosphere that also will be raising funds for the Y’s charitable activities. So, lace up your sneakers and choose between a 2.5 km or 5 km walk or run – either way, it’s all about spreading love, acceptance, well-being and some of that rainbow magic. This event celebrates inclusion, diversity, and healthy living during Pride and Indigenous month, while raising funds to support our community’s wellness. We warmly invite all individuals to participate and join the fun. Registration is just $15 per person** (kiddos 12 and under get to tag along for free), and you can enjoy this colourful adventure by the waterfront and through downtown Cobourg. In support of the YMCA Northumberland’s invaluable initiatives, participants are encouraged to seek donations from family and friends for their Rainbow Run. If you rally $50 or more in donations, you will receive a complimentary Event T-shirt to show your pride! Snazzy and colourful Commemorative Event T-shirts ($20)* and rainbow swag will be available for purchase on the day of. But wait, there’s more! As a token of accomplishment, the first 300 registered participants to cross the rainbow finish line will snag themselves a shiny finisher medal. We encourage all attendees to embrace the festive spirit and dress up! Let's paint the town with our vibrant hues and celebrate the colours of the rainbow by dressing up in your most vivid and multi-toned outfits! 🎨🌈 So, come one, come all! We can’t wait to spread love and paint the town in a multicoloured rainbow at this epic family and community extravaganza! Furry friends and strollers are also welcome. This project has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada through the ParticipACTION Community Challenge Grant. The Community Challenge is a national physical activity initiative that encourages everyone to get active together throughout June, with Canada’s most active community winning the top prize of $100,000 to go towards local physical activity and sports initiatives. Saturday, June 1 10 am - 4 pm YMCA Cobourg Bib and t-shirt pickup. Sunday, June 2 8:30 am Cobourg Yacht Club Registration table opens for registration and bib and t-shirt pickup. Sunday, June 2 9:30 am 5K Run and 2.5K Run/Walk Starts.
Important Safety Note
For the safety of all participants, we strongly recommend against wearing iPods or similar audio devices that inhibit your ability to hear surrounding sounds. This is a danger to fellow participants and yourself if you cannot hear direction from a race official, event participant, or emergency vehicles.
