Woodhorn Museum Triathlon Weekend 2026
The Woodhorn Museum Triathlon Weekend takes place at Woodhorn Museum and the QE2 Country Park in Ashington. Events use the warm shallow freshwater QE2 lake for swims, a bike route that leads out of the museum area towards the coastal road and Cresswell village, and a run course on footpaths through woodland and open grassland that passes the museum finish on each lap.
Event types over the weekend include junior aquathlon categories (TriStar Start, TriStar 1, TriStar 2, TriStar 3), open water swim challenges, aquabike, aquathlon, individual and relay triathlons. The programme covers both sprint and standard distances and includes relay options.
Age and entry details stated by the organiser include minimum ages on 31st December 2026: Tristar categories as listed for ages 8 to 14; open water swim minimums of 12 years for 750 m and 1.5 km, and 14 years for 3 km; sprint multisport events minimum 15 years and standard distance minimum 17 years. A booking fee of 5% is applied to online entries by the event partner Results Base.
