History & Purpose
For nearly 20 years, the Baker Ultra averaged 80% men, 20% women. In late 2023, we created Equity Guidelines, which included allocating 50% of the race entries to women. We are the only 50-mile race in the United States that allocates equal space for women. Hosting the Women's Run & Raffle allows us to expose more women runners to the Baker Trail UltraChallenge 50-miler (and raffle off some free entries)! And most importantly, this event serves as a relaxed, fun, and supportive running opportunity for women of varying backgrounds.
