❄️ The Winter Hourglass Challenge – Run & Ruck Edition [By Toughest Alive]
Palmer, Alaska — Winter 2025
Think you can outlast the hourglass? Welcome to The Winter Hourglass Challenge, a cold-weather grind built for runners, ruckers, and anyone who wants to test grit, pacing, and mental toughness in true Alaska winter conditions. This isn’t a normal race—it’s a race against time itself.
HOW IT WORKS
Two Divisions:
- 🏃♂️ RUNNING — 2-Mile Loop
- 🎒 RUCKING — 1-Mile Loop
Every athlete begins with 30 minutes to complete their loop. After each successful lap, the hourglass drops: ⏱️ Each new round gives you 1 minute less to finish the same loop. Round 1: 30 minutes Round 2: 29 minutes Round 3: 28 minutes … ... Until you time out. Miss the cutoff? You're out. Your score is the number of completed laps. The event continues until only one athlete in each division remains—or until time finally runs out on everyone.

- Ruckers wanting a high-challenge loop
