About the race
In the 18th edition of the Kirchweihlauf, there was again best weather for the 16th time. Around 25 degrees might have been a bit too much of a good thing for the participants, but it was an ideal day for the music groups and enthusiasts along the route.
Sportingly, it started as always with the youngest. This time, children as young as 3 years old even ran in the races for girls and boys. Respect for so much enthusiasm for running.
The race L1 (female U10 over 1km) was won by Sofie Großpietsch (4:35) ahead of Hannah Barton (4:39) and Lara Kühnl (4:45). In the race L2 (male U10 over 1km), Moritz Bauer (4:25) narrowly won ahead of the almost equally timed Lukas Klein (4:25) and Piet Marold (4:29).
In the jointly held races for girls and boys U12 (L4 over 2km) and U16 (L4 over 2km), winners with trophies were:

In the races over 5km (L5) and 10km (L6), very good results were again achieved on the course, which has been slightly changed for 2 years. Thus, a course record was again broken this year. Delia Schmitt from the Absolute Run Crew Würzburg improved her personal best, which she has held since 2018, by 20 seconds.
