West Lancs Summer Triathlon
The West Lancs Summer Triathlon takes place at Edge Hill University, providing a perfect venue for this highly-rated event, particularly for first-timers in the North West. All abilities participate, including elite competitors, but the event has earned its reputation as an ideal first-time challenge.
The triathlon format includes a 400m swim in the new pool facility, a flat 21.5km cycle on a 3-lap course, and a 5km run that traverses campus trails, finishing on the university running track amidst cheers from family and supporters. This event is part 2 of the series, following the West Lancs Spring Triathlon in April, and is typically warmer in August.
Building on the success of the Duathlon & Aquathlon options introduced in 2025, these will continue to be offered for 2026.

Entry Fees:
- West Lancs Triathlon = £59 Solo entry and £89 Relay entry.
- West Lancs Duathlon = £59 Solo entry and £89 Relay entry.
- West Lancs Aquathlon = £39 Solo entry and £69 Relay entry.
- West Lancs Aquabike = £49 Solo entry and £79 Relay entry.
Entries will close either at 12 noon on the Thursday prior to the event or when the event fills, whichever occurs first.
British Triathlon Membership/Race Pass
You are required to be a member of British Triathlon and hold a race licence or have a British British Triathlon Race Pass to race in this event. You must either become a British Triathlon ‘Core’ or ‘Ultimate’ annual member HERE or purchase a single use Race Pass for West Lancs Summer Triathlon HERE.
Included within your entry is:
- West Lancs Triathlon finishers medal
- Swim cap (Triathlon, Aquathlon & Aquabike)
- Event photographs free to download from our Facebook page
Duathlon Start Time:
0800hrs (Start Time for all entrants) at the Start/Finish Area on the Running Track with a mandatory briefing prior to this.
