Welsh 3000 Challenge (14 Peaks)
The Welsh 3000 Challenge climbs all the peaks in Snowdonia officially recognised as over 3000 ft in a continuous journey. The route covers about 50 km with close to 4000 m of ascent and passes notable summits such as Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), the Crib Goch ridge, the Glyders and Tryfan before crossing the Carneddau range.
Options are offered as a single-day guided challenge (20 hour format) or spread over two or three days. Previous hill walking experience is recommended because parts of the route include exposed scrambling; the Crib Goch section is only attempted in good weather and can be bypassed if participants prefer.
Guiding and support are provided by qualified Mountain Leaders and Mountaineering Instructors, with a low staff to participant ratio (typically 1:4). The event includes refuelling opportunities and support at three key locations, a support team that can follow the route, different pace options and transport back to the start.
