Watermead Challenge 2026
The Rotary Club of the Wreake Valley stages the 16th Watermead Challenge on Tuesday 7 July 2026 at Watermead Country Park (North entrance), Syston near Leicester LE7 1PD. The main event is a measured, chip timed 5 mile race held entirely on traffic free tarmac paths within the park.
A short fun run of approximately 3 miles is also provided. The fun run is not timed and results will not be published.
Prizes are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers in the 5 mile event. All finishers in both events receive a medal.
Entry details and limits are published for each event. The 5 mile race has a limit of 550 places and the fun run is limited to 50 places. Entrants must be 15 years or older on race day for the 5 mile event. For the fun run entrants must be at least 6 years old and children under 11 must remain within arm's length of an adult.
Entries close on 27 June 2026. Transfers are permitted up to 27 June 2026. In the event the organisers cancel the race, entrants will be offered refund, deferral or the option to donate their entry fee to the event charities.
