Volkslauf "Rund um den Laacher See"
The Volkslauf "Rund um den Laacher See" will take place in Glees on Sunday 20 September 2026. This event, celebrating its 50th anniversary, is a significant running event in Rhineland-Palatinate, organized by the LG Laacher See eV since 1980. The race is held in the largest nature reserve in Rhineland-Palatinate, focusing on sustainability, environmental protection, mindfulness, inclusion, and integration. The motto is "Sport & Fun – Experience movement with and without disabilities." The event includes a 9-kilometer main race, a 2.2-kilometer inclusive relay (4 x 550m), and categories for children and youth.
The organizers are committed to ecological, economic, and social aspects, aiming for resource efficiency, reducing plastic, and promoting environmentally conscious travel. To protect the environment, there will be no refreshment stations on the main course, but participants can enjoy mindfulness exercises before the start.
