Ultra Trail du Mont Gosford
Sanctioned by the Fédération d'athlétisme du Québec and a member of the International Trail Running Association, the UTMG (Ultra Trail du Mont Gosford) will hold its second edition in 2026 with a new format. The event takes place within ZEC Louise Gosford, home to the highest mountain south of Quebec, and on border trails towards the United States. This is the only race in America that runs along a border!
Distances offered include: 1 km, 5 km, 10 km, 17 km, 30 km, 50 km, and an 80 km ultra trail. The flagship 80 km distance features 4278 m of positive elevation gain and can be run solo or as a relay by teams of three, with each teammate running a pre-established section of approximately 27 km.
Most races start at the ZEC Louise Gosford reception. The 50 km and 80 km races start in Chartierville, near the U.S. border. The course follows border trails, passing Mont Salmon, Mont d'Urban, Montagne de Marbre, Mont Saddle, Mont Gosford, and Petit Gosford, before completing a final loop back to the ZEC reception. Shuttle service will be available to transport runners to the Chartierville parking area before the race.
The event is assigned ITRA points: ITRA 4 and mountain points 5.
