What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk?
The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11,2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11,2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! This will be the 5th year in Donnellson and we are excited to once again bring together the community to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs.
How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?
This is a 5K (3.1 miles) to walk or run this event. Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.
Packet Pickup & Registration
Packet Pick up details will be announced. Registration will be open until the start of the run, but shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants. Online registration closes at the start of the run.
Race Day Information
Bib numbers must be displayed on the front of your outermost garment. Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral. Awards are based on firefighters, police, or military running in gear. The event is currently not timed.
Amenities and Support
Water stations will be available along the route and at the square. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
Donations and Fundraising
Registration fees do not count towards fundraising goals. Donations can be made online for 6 weeks after the event. Sponsorship opportunities are available by emailing [email protected]. You can also donate goods or services by contacting the same email address. You can start your own fundraising page once registered. Transfers and Refunds
Registration may be transferred to another person. Refunds are not provided.
Volunteering and Medical Support
Volunteers are always needed. Email [email protected] to get involved. An Emergency Medical Service team will be on-site with radio communication available on the course.
Fundraising Incentives
Fundraising incentives are offered, with qualification completed by August 31, 2026.
