What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk?
The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11,2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11,2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! This is our inaugural run/walk in Lyndhurst, OH and we are excited to bring together the community to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs.
How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?
This is a 5K (3.1 miles) to walk or run this event. Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.

- Friday, June 26: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Second Sole Lyndhurst, 5114 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst, OH 44124
- Saturday, June 27: 6:30 AM - 7:30 AM at Lyndhurst Municipal Complex, 5301 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst, OH 44124
Registration
Day-of registration: Available from 7:00 AM on the day of the run. Registering online before the event closes is recommended to save time and money. Day-of registrants may not receive a shirt, and sizes are not guaranteed.
Online registration closes: At the start of the run.
Race Rules
- Bib Number: Must be displayed on the front of your outermost garment. Runners without a bib will be asked to leave the course.
- Frontline Position: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early).
- Awards: Awards are based on firefighters, police, or military running in gear. The event is currently not timed.
Event Amenities
- Water: A water station will be available along the route and at the main gathering area.
- Permitted Items: Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are permitted. Please leave personal items and valuables in your vehicle.
- Fundraising: Registration fees do not count towards fundraising goals. Donations are accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

- Refunds: No refunds are provided. Registration may be transferred.

- Receipts: Online registrants receive an automatic receipt. Credit card/check payments serve as receipts. Cash receipts are available upon request.
- Medical Staff: An Emergency Medical Service team and radio communication will be available on-site and along the course.
- Fundraising Incentives: Available annually; fundraising must be completed by August 31, 2026, to qualify.
