Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Hummelstown, PA
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! This is a 5K (3.1 miles). You are welcome to walk or run this event.
Registration Details:
- Day-of registration opens at 7:30 AM.
- Online registration closes on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
- T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after Monday, August 3, 2026.
- Packet pick-up: August 19, 20, and 21 at the Hummelstown Borough Office (261 Quarry Rd, Hummelstown, PA 17036) from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Alternatively, packets available Friday evening at Schaffner Park (5:00 PM to 7:00 PM) and on race day at Schaffner Park (7:30 AM to 8:30 AM).
Event Timeline (Race Day):
- 7:30 AM: Packet pick-up and registration at Schaffner Park.
- 8:30 AM: Opening ceremony.
- Approx. 9:03 AM: 5K race start.
- Awards and closing ceremony to follow the race.
Event Information:
- This is a timed event.
- Parking is available; arrive early.
- Bib numbers must be worn on the front of your outermost garment.
- Front corral for runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile.
- Awards for fastest overall male/female and top finishers in each age group.
- Water stations will be available along the route and at the finish.
- Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are permitted and encouraged. Bicycles, roller blades, and pets are not permitted.

- Donations accepted for 6 weeks after the event.
