About the race
The Trofeo Sempione starts and finishes at the Arena Civica and consists of a 1-lap warm-up followed by 2 large laps outside the park, along the cycle path parallel to the fence. The route starts inside the Arena, on the straight in front of the Pulvinare, the royal loggia on the central stand. This was the honor box from which Napoleon watched the naval battles that took place in the Arena, when the amphitheater was filled with water from the Navigli. Running clockwise for 300m on the athletics track, you exit through the Porta Trionfale, turn right and enter Parco Sempione. You will skirt the Arena up to the Palazzina Appiani and take the wide Goethe avenue, which then becomes Malta avenue, heading towards Piazza Sempione. The group of athletes will be able to run fast and spread out along the white road with the silhouette of the Arco della Pace in front of them.
