Track 10,000m & Mile Races
City Runs stages track races at Exeter Arena, Exhibition Field, Summer Lane, Exeter on 24 June 2026. The programme includes graded 10,000 metre and mile races plus additional mile races for club and unattached runners.

The 10,000m event serves as the Devon County AA 10,000m Championships and is organised as two graded races. Entry to graded races requires an England Athletics competitions licence; non Devon county entries are welcome. Races are run under UKA rules. Due to track time availability, the cut off for 10,000m entries is 55 minutes. There is a limit of 20 runners per 10,000m race.
Graded mile races, presented as the Westcountry Mile, are run under UKA rules and have a 16 runners per race limit. The Always Moving Try The Track Mile is aimed at club and unattached runners and will not be run under UKA rules; these races are therefore not eligible for Power 10 rankings and also have a 16 runners per race limit.
Ideally footwear should comply with World Athletics rules, with a maximum sole thickness of 25 mm; non conforming road shoes will be permitted if a runner has no alternative. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Devon County AA 10,000m Championships
2 Graded Races, please note you MUST be a England athletics competitions license holder- non Devon county entries welcome. Run under UKA rules. Due track time availability, the cut off time for 10,000m entries is 55mins. 20 runners per race limit.
Westcountry Mile & Try The Track Mile (U14's and above)
Graded races over the classic mile distance, please note you MUST be a England athletics competitions license holder to be eligible for Power of 10 results. Run under UKA rules. 16 runners per race limit.
MILE UPDATE AS OF 4th JUNE:
We have just been made aware by England Athletics of changes introduced with the new junior age groups from 1 April 2026, which affect the maximum track distances permitted for junior athletes. As a result, we will be offering a separate 1200m race for U12 athletes. The Mile race is open to U14 athletes and above only.
Ideally footwear should comply with World Athletics rules i.e 25mm maximum sole thickness, but non conforming road shoes will be allowed for this event if you have no alternative.
