The Railway Relay
The Railway Relay is a team relay running event from Peterhead to Ellon on the Formartine and Buchan Way, the old railway line that is now a traffic-free shared use path.
Enter a team (3-5 people) and complete the ~27 mile distance by sharing the 9 relay legs ranging in distance from 2 to 4 miles each. Set a runner off, drive to the next changeover point, and repeat all the way!
All abilities welcome. Times to complete the distance typically range from under 3 hours to over 5 hours. Starting waves set off every half hour from 10am to Noon so that all teams arrive in Ellon roughly from 2:30pm to 3:30pm where food, drinks and adulation await!
This is a social, fun event where you will have a great time cheering on all participants as you leapfrog down the route bantering with the other teams.
A team entry is £40. Teams will receive a full set of instructions, and be set off and guided by Race Director Steven G. You will receive free food and drink at the finish area (alcoholic and soft drinks available) where a party atmosphere awaits, and a finisher’s medal to remember the day.
