The Last Duel Trail Race
200th Anniversary Special

Date and Time: Sunday, 23rd August 2026. Registration from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM. Briefing at 10:20 AM. Race start at 10:30 AM.
Entries close at 11:00 PM on 9th August 2026. No entries on the day.
Registration: All race numbers and medals will be in a goodie bag, collected on the morning of the race at the Corrie Centre. Competitors must complete registration by 10:15 AM.
Race Starting Point and Course
The race starts and finishes in the playpark next to Cardenden Primary School. The course is approximately 5.7 miles long and passes the site of the last pistol duel in Scotland. The route is mainly off-road, with varied terrain including woodland, a farm track, a gravel path, and a small timber bridge. Trail shoes are recommended due to potentially muddy, rocky, or rooted conditions.
Entry Fee
The race entry fee is £17.00. A discount of £3.00 is available for Scottish Athletics members. Entries close on 9th August 2026.
Entry Transfer Policy: All entries are non-refundable. Entries will be carried forward to the following year if the race is rescheduled.

Parking
Limited parking is available at the Corrie Centre. Additional parking is advised at Cardenden Primary School.
Changing Facilities
No changing facilities are available; please arrive ready for the race.
Refreshments and Prizes
Refreshments and race prizes will be provided at the Corrie Centre after the race. Every finisher receives a unique medal. Cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Male and Female participants.
Medical Advice: Participants must be fit to compete and have no known medical conditions that would adversely affect their ability to run the race. Runners participate at their own risk.
