The Hardmoors 30
The Hardmoors 30 is an approximately 30-mile trail event on the Cleveland Way and Cinder Track between Robin Hood's Bay and the edge of Scarborough. The route passes through Ravenscar, Hayburn Wyke, Crookness and Scalby Mills and uses cliff-top paths and coastal tracks.
The race takes place on Saturday 9 January 2027 with entry limited to 200 competitors. The route records list an ascent of 3,400 ft (1,040 m) and a time limit of 11 hours. There are multiple staffed checkpoints offering refreshments and food; the course uses Fylingdales Village Hall, Robin Hood's Bay for start and finish and stops at Ravenscar, Crookness and Scalby Mills en route. Specific checkpoint cutoffs are published for Scalby Mills, Crookness and Ravenscar and the overall finish.
Mandatory kit must be carried for the duration of the event and includes a hat and gloves, waterproof jacket with taped seams, a minimum of 500 ml fluid, a headtorch or torch, whistle, emergency food, map and route description, survival bag, foil blanket, mobile phone, a cup for drinks and means to attach the race bib. Dogs are not permitted.
