The Garmin New Forest Marathon 2026
The New Forest Marathon event takes place on 13 September 2026 at New Park Showground, Brockenhurst, New Forest, Hampshire. It is organised by ORA Events Limited and includes in-person and virtual participation options.
Event choices include a range of distances and family activities:
- Full Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K with age categories
- Junior 200m and Junior 1 mile
- Woodland Walk
- Virtual events for Full, Half, 10K and 5K
Minimum ages are set for some races: Half Marathon 17 years, 10K 15 years, 5K 11 years, and junior races for younger children. The 5K category for 8 to 10 year olds requires the child to be at least 8 on race day, to have completed a 5K or 10K twice previously, and to be accompanied at all times by an officially entered parent or guardian.
The event supports a registered charity, the New Forest Marathon Community Fund (charity number 1176268). Over 38 years the event has donated more than £1.33 million to local causes and since 2015 has raised over £85,000 for local projects. Marshals and helpers are largely representatives of community groups.
Full refunds are available within 14 days of purchase. Wheelchairs are not accepted and cyclists and child buggies are not permitted on the course. Use of in ear headphones is strongly discouraged for safety, though audio devices are not grounds for disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

- 10:00am - Full Marathon*

- 11:15am - 10k*
- 11:30am - 5k*
- 3:30pm - Junior Run 200m/1 mile*
These are subject to change and may differ slightly, final start times*
Minimum age requirements for each event:
- Half Marathon: 17 years
- 10K: 15 years
- 5K: 11 years
- 5K: 8 - 10 years (See below for terms and conditions)
- Junior: 0 - 12 years - This is a fun based race for all ages to enjoy, parents and family are welcome to support those little ones by joining in.
5K 8 - 10 Terms and conditions
Entry to the 5K (8 - 10 years) includes the price of an accompanying adult or the 10K the child must fulfil the following criteria:
- You must be 8yrs old or above on race day
- You must have completed a 5k or 10k distance twice before the event and you are comfortable with this distance
- You must be accompanied by a parent or guardian AT ALL TIMES before, during and after the race. The accompanying adult must also be officially entered for the event
- You must have read and understood the declaration upon booking
- For the 10k the paren/guardian must email consent for their son/daughter to take part in the 10k
