The Fort 20
The Fort 20 is a looped trail event held on 11 October 2026 that starts and finishes within the walls of the 18th Century Landguard Fort on the Suffolk peninsula in Felixstowe. The route crosses two nature reserves, two river estuaries and the Port and is presented in collaboration with English Heritage.
The course covers a 20 mile mixed trail and is fully marked with a provided .gpx file. The event includes three water and snack stations, a drop bag facility, a long sleeve T shirt and a race medal. There is a six hour cut off for completion. The event is licensed by the TRA and held under UK Athletics rules. Participants must be 18 years of age or older on race day.
Entries open on 1 November 2025 and close on 26 September 2026. Entry fees are listed in GBP with separate rates for affiliated and unaffiliated competitors. The event offers an option to purchase XCover which may allow a refund in specified circumstances. The organiser is Coastal Trail Runners.
