The BIG Startup 5K - Jumpstart
The BIG Startup 5K is a city 5 kilometre running and walking event organised by Jumpstart and scheduled for 12th August 2026 in Battersea Park, London. The event is presented as a community-focused startup gathering and features a single 5 km distance.
The event expects over 2,000 runners and more than 400 participating UK startups and venture capital organisations. Partners named in association with the event include venture capital firms such as Seedcamp, Y Combinator and Balderton Capital.
The format is non-competitive: participants may run, walk or attend as spectators. Teams can register together with no team limit, and a company name is used as the team identifier. A small bag drop will be provided but is expected to be busy. Event features listed include a live DJ, food and drink options, and goody bags or partner prizes.

FAQs
- Do I have to run to participate? Absolutely not! This event is super non-competitive, so we encourage you to run or walk to bond as a team but spectators are also welcome to come and cheer in Battersea Park!
- Will you have a Bag Drop? There will be a small bag drop at the event but we expect this to be very busy so please avoid bringing bags if possible or bring a spectator to watch bags!
- Can we register as a team? Please do! You can register multiple teammates at once using our ticketing system with no team limit. Your company name will be your team!
- When will the running start? We’ll start welcoming Teams to the Bowling Green from 6PM. The Start line will open at 6.30PM and close at 8PM (to try to arrive early to avoid a rush!)
- Will the race go ahead if it’s raining? Rain or shine we’ll be ready to welcome your team so make sure to dress appropriate for the weather!
