Thanksgiving Day Apple Cup 5K
Produced by Hi5K, this is the 8th Annual Thanksgiving Day Apple Cup 5K. It's a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving and Apple Cup simultaneously. Participants are encouraged to wear Husky, Cougar, or their own team colors, or even dress up as a turkey. The event offers an official 5K chip-timed result.
The event takes place at Green Lake Park in Seattle. The course is a 5K on a paved loop around Green Lake, with the final stretch around the ball fields. It is described as flat and fast, suitable for achieving a personal record (PR).
Age Restrictions: If under 18, a parent or guardian must register and sign the waiver. Individuals 18 and older can register themselves.
Race Day Schedule (Thanksgiving Day):
- 7:45 AM - 9:10 AM: Bib Pickup at Green Lake softball fields (East side of Green Lake - Hi5K Tents). Canned food donations can be dropped off. Day-Of-Race registration is also available.
- 9:30 AM: 5K Race Start
- 10:15 AM: Podium Awards Begin (Top 3 in each age category, Male/Female awarded separately). Age categories: 1-11, 12-15, 16-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
- 9:50 AM - 10:40 AM: Post-Race Hydration and Nutrition available.

Course Information:
Start/Finish area is at the Greenlake Community Center basketball courts on the East side of Greenlake. The race heads west toward the lake, then counter-clockwise around Green Lake on the inner paved path. At approximately mile 2.8, there's a turn to loop around the play fields. The final turn is 200 meters from the finish.
Timing: Chip-timed event by Bell Lap Productions.
Weather: Prepare for cold or inclement weather (November).
Donations: The race supports local food shelters. Non-perishable or canned food items are appreciated.
FAQs: Stroller friendly. Dogs are not allowed per USATF regulations.
