Surrey Ultra Mountain Marathon
The Surrey Ultra Mountain Marathon is a two day, two person team, self supported navigation and endurance challenge based at Newlands Corner in the Surrey Hills. Teams attempt to gain points from virtual controls across two timed sessions: seven hours on the first day and six hours on the second. All teams start at the same time on each day.
Entry is by pairs only; single entrants are not allowed. A maximum of 20 teams may take part. Teams must carry all equipment and provisions for the weekend, including camping gear such as a tent, sleeping bag and sleep mat, plus cooking gear, fuel and all food.
Camping is basic but includes hot and cold water, showers and toilets. The campsite is on a working farm and may be noisy overnight due to geese, ducks and other groups present.
The entry fee is £60 per team and includes camping, maps, a t shirt and the first beer in camp; the fee increases to £70 per team on 1 February 2027.
Participants take part at their own risk; there is no insurance, no medical coverage and no repatriation provided. The event is organised by Trionium and is based at Drove Road, Newlands Corner, Albury, Guildford GU4 8SE.
