Sunderland City Runs
Sunderland City Runs is a two-day road running event held on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 May 2027. The weekend programme includes a Saturday 5K and several Sunday races on traffic-free city streets. The routes are described as fast and are classified as flat.

Entries include a traffic-free picturesque course, a medal and goody bag for all finishers, secure baggage drop, electronic chip timing, and prizes for the top three male and female finishers plus first in V40, V50 and V60 categories. The first Sunderland City 10K took place in 2011 with just over 1,500 participants. Recent editions have welcomed over 5,000 participants across the city events.
