Stratford's Half Marathon and Big 10k - Tempo Events (13 September 2026)
The event is held in Stratford-upon-Avon with both races based on Stratford Recreation Ground by the tennis courts. Runners are assembled on the Recreation Ground and led out onto Shipston Road (A3400), which is closed for the event.
Distances
- 10K
- Half marathon
Both courses run along Shipston Road, Clifford Lane and Milcote Road and use the Greenway. The route passes riverside sections including Lucy’s Mill Bridge, Holy Trinity Church, the Courtyard Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre, then crosses Bancroft Gardens and the canal and tramway footbridges to return to the Recreation Ground near the bandstand.
The half marathon extends beyond the Greenway to Station Road, Welford Road and the village of Long Marston, includes Rumor Hill, then returns to Milcote and rejoins the Greenway toward Stratford to follow the same final approach as the 10K.
Entry is available online or by post and numbers and timing chips are posted to entrants beforehand; day entries depend on race limits. Minimum ages are 15 for the 10K and 17 for the half marathon. Water stations are provided: one at about 5 kilometres for the 10K and at roughly 4, 7 and 10 miles for the half. Baggage drop is available at the finish. Finishers receive a medal; prizes are awarded to top finishers by gender and by age groups. The event partners include the Time Out Group as charity partner and Lodders Solicitors as principal sponsor. Photography and post-race sports massage are provided on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
