Stratford 5K Run/Walk for the Local Community Food Centre
This event is a 5 km run/walk in Stratford, Ontario, organized to raise funds for The Local Community Food Centre. The centre runs programs to cook, grow, share and advocate for access to healthy food and supports participants in building kitchen and gardening skills.
The 5K is chip timed and welcomes runners, walkers and strollers. The course passes near Victoria Lake and the Stratford Festival theatres. A kids race of approximately 600 metres is offered; it includes medals and requires separate registration for each child.
All 5K registrations combine a lower registration fee with a minimum donation; the donation portion is eligible for a tax receipt. One hundred percent of proceeds go to The Local Community Food Centre. The event includes a fundraising challenge with prizes.
