Sportspectrum Firecracker 5k Race for Research
Welcome to the 41st Anniversary of the Sportspectrum Firecracker 5k Race for Research Run & Healthwalk. This race is also being run in the memory of three great friends: Ran Kiper, Jim Wilhite, & Robin Fell.
Events:
- 5k: 8:00AM - 10:00AM CDT. Prices increase after June 2, 2025. Registration: $22 (until June 1), $27 (June 2-22), $32 (June 23-July 3), $35 (Race Day)
- Kids Fun Run: 7:30AM - 8:00AM CDT. Registration ends July 3, 2025 at 5:30pm CDT. Open to ages 1-10. $15 (until July 3), $20 (Race Day)
Location: Mall St. Vincent, 1133 St. Vincent Ave, Shreveport, LA 71104 US
Course Description: The 5K (3.1 miles) starts and finishes at the Mall St. Vincent Parking Lot (behind Sears). The race goes through the historic South Highland Subdivision.
Awards: Overall Male & Female winners receive $500 each, 2nd place winners receive $250 each. First 101 men and first 100 women finishers receive a commemorative mug. First 10 male and female finishers over 50 also receive a mug.
Post Party: Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, fresh fruit, Great Raft Beer, and water.
