The South Downs Trail Run offers multiple distances to choose from, including 21k, 21k Canicross, 18k, 18k Canicross, 12k, and 12k Canicross. This event is set to take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026.
Route Information
The South Downs Trail Run, beginning at the Glorious Goodwood Estate and taking you deep into the heart of the South Downs National Park. This ultimate trail run offers spectacular views across the rolling South Downs, with distant glimpses of the North Downs, Chichester Harbour, and even the Isle of Wight on a clear day. The route is thoughtfully crafted to showcase the area's beauty, weaving through forest tracks, skirting the edge of Levin Down, and joining a stretch of the iconic South Downs Way. After a rewarding downhill into East Dean, there's one final climb before the triumphant finish back at Goodwood. Expect a rich mix of forest fire roads, bridleways, and single-track trails, keeping every mile varied and engaging. With three distances to choose from, this event has something for everyone, whether you're a dedicated runner looking to hit a new PB, building confidence on the trails, or simply wanting to enjoy the incredible surroundings. As you cross the finish line, you will receive a well-earned medal, a refreshing drink, and exciting finisher's goodies.

- 9:00 AM - 21km Distance Race Start!
- 9:05 AM - 21km Canicross Distance Race Start!
- 9:15 AM - 19km Distance Race Start!
- 9:20 AM - 19km Canicross Distance Race Start!
- 9:30 AM - 12km Distance Race Start!
- 9:35 AM - 12km Canicross Distance Race Start!
- 1:30 pm - The Race Finishes / Cut-off Time
- 2:00 pm - The Event Centre Closes
Canicross Entries
Please ensure you bring the following items for your dog:
- Poo bags
- Water
- Treats
- An appropriate dog lead
- One dog, per one runner
Things to Note
- You will collect your running bib number on arrival at the event. Please bring your QR code with you on the day and head to 'Registration' for collection.
- Save The Event Phone Number: 02033 717 156.
- Bib numbers should be displayed clearly on the front of you.
- We are plastic free, please bring a reusable cup / bottle for use at the water stations.
- There will be First Aid support located at the on-course aid stations and event centre.
