Sokolský běh republiky – Komárov
The Sokolský běh republiky in Komárov will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. This event operates as a RACE, meaning timing may not be chip-based, but official times and winner announcements will still occur. All participants will receive a starting package with a bib and gifts from organizers and partners. A republic-shaped medal awaits finishers.
Main Course
Adults: 4.9 km
The race course is pleasantly undemanding, passing through asphalt, gravel, and forest paths with a total elevation gain of 85 meters. Participants will enjoy beautiful natural scenery, passing by Červený rybník and rybník Dráteník, the church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Mrtník, Červený potok and Mrtnická skála, and the Záskalská reservoir. The environment is ideal for outdoor activity with picturesque views.
Children's Courses
- 1.4 km (born 2012 - 2015): Starts at the Sokolovna, runs on asphalt and gravel paths through U Nádržky street to Komárov Castle, along Červený potok to Červený rybník, and back to the finish at Sokolovna. Total elevation gain is 12 meters.
- 420 m (born 2016 - 2020): Starts at Sokolovna, proceeds to "nádržka", turns left, then left again after 80 meters, and runs back to Sokolovna. The course is on asphalt (road, sidewalk). Elevation gain is 9 meters.
- 200 m (born 2021 and younger): Takes place within the Sokolovna grounds, starting to the right of the building, circling the multi-purpose court, and exiting onto the grass for the finish at the corner of Sokolovna. Minimal elevation gain.
Accompanying Program
Children will have access to balls. Mats and rings will be available in the gym under the supervision of instructors.
Runner Facilities
Lockers and restrooms are available at the Sokolovna. Light refreshments can be purchased.
Parking
Parking is available opposite the Sokolovna or approximately 200 meters further down in Otto z Losů Square.
