Seaton Classic 10k - NI & Ulster Championship
The Seaton Classic is a 10 km road race held on 26 September 2026 in Bangor, with the start area at Castle Park and the finish in Ward Park. The event is organised by North Down Athletic Club in association with John Minnis Estate Agents and is the designated Athletics NI NI and Ulster Championship 10k for this date.
The race is chip timed and does not offer a virtual option. Participants must be 15 years or older on race day. Entry windows include an initial opening on 19 June 2026, an ANI registration period with earlier access, general sale from 3 July 2026, and closing on 25 September 2026. Multiple entry options are offered with different inclusions such as a technical t-shirt and/or a medal, and separate pricing for ANI registered athletes and non ANI entrants.
The route starts near Bangor City Hall, passes through Bangor city centre, follows coastal and countryside roads to Groomsport with a loop, and returns along the coast to finish in Ward Park. The course is described as fairly flat with a short hill near 9 km. Roads remain open to traffic at most points and marshals will direct runners. Water stations are provided at Groomsport and at the finish, and refreshments are available in the bowling pavilion adjacent to the finish area.
Facilities include changing rooms and showers at Bangor Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex, toilets and portable facilities at the start, and free parking at the Aurora Complex. Pack collection is available at the Leisure Complex on the day before and on race morning. Race rules follow UK Athletics and Athletics NI regulations; the prize fund is over £4,100 and includes age category prizes for both male and female competitors.
