Scilly60% The Marathon
Scilly60% is a 42 km multi island trail marathon that crosses four of the off islands before finishing on St Marys. Runners complete full circumnavigations of St Martins, Tresco, Bryher and St Agnes, then a final run on St Marys. The route follows coastal paths and is professionally marked. Ferry transitions are organised with tidal considerations and the event provides support throughout the day.
The race is self sufficient. There are no energy stations en route and every competitor must start with three litres of water in their boat bag. Runners are expected to carry their own food, drink and spare clothing for each stage; volunteers will refill named bottles left in boat bags. Toilets are available on each quay.
Cut off times are based on a pace of 8:30 min per km. The event is limited to 150 participants. Suggested equipment and boat bag items are listed in the event information and include a waterproof boat bag, running hydration, spare clothing, basic first aid and a powerbank. Course distances and stage profiles may be updated closer to the event and GPX files for the stages are available for download prior to race day.
Key stage distances
- St Martins 10 km
- Tresco 11 km
- Bryher 8 km

New event - Friday 4th September
Due to high demand and only being able to offer a limited amount of spaces on the event I have decided to organise a second Scilly60% event at the start of September. Places are still limited. The Ballot is now closed, the registration page will open on Saturday 10th Jan in the evening for any left over places.
Experience a marathon like no other. Scilly60% – The Marathon is a 42 km multi-island trail race that takes runners across four of the Isles of Scilly’s most spectacular islands before finishing on St Mary’s. Competitors will complete every inch of coast path on St Martin’s, Tresco, Bryher, & St Agnes, followed by a final 5 km push to the finish on St Mary’s.
This is more than a marathon — it’s an island-hopping adventure through some of the most scenic and varied coastal trails in the UK.
Cut-Offs & Pace
Cut-off times are based on a pace of: 8:30 min/km (13:20 min/mile) This offers a more forgiving window than the original Scilly60, providing roughly 10 additional minutes per island — but the rugged terrain, tidal deadlines, and inter-island logistics still make this a demanding and highly rewarding challenge.
