Salt Settlers Six Hour Race
The Salt Settlers Six Hour Race is a time-limited loop event held in the Lower Otter valley near Budleigh Salterton, United Kingdom. Participants complete as many 4.4 km loops as possible within six hours on a largely flat course with about 12 m of elevation gain per loop.
The event offers both solo and pairs relay entries. The course provides access to an aid station after every loop. The event base at Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club includes a cafe, a bar and hot showers for participants. The race is open to runners and walkers, and all participants receive a special memento.
The event route runs across low-lying areas of the Lower Otter valley that have been altered by recent flood restoration work. On high spring tides some parts of the course can be underwater; the event is positioned between high tides, so returning late from a final loop may bring runners into tidal water.
