Running of the Steers
The event takes place in Kingston, Nova Scotia, at the Aurora Inn on Main Street. It is presented as a family-oriented fundraiser hosted by the Kingston Farmers Market with assistance from Core Endurance. The event links a running program with a long-standing local barbecue tradition.
Spectators and participants are encouraged to wear red and white and to bring cowbells. Families can meet Kingsley the Steer at the site. The program includes separate races organized by age group.
- 200 m (Ages 0-5) Baby Bulls - free
- 1 km (Ages 6-11) Miniature Matadors - free
- 5 km (Ages 12+) Running of the Steers - registration fee applies
Participants aged 11 and under are free of charge. Participants aged 12 and over are subject to a registration fee. The event combines short youth races and a 5 km event with fundraising for the local farmers market. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
