Round the Island Race
The Round the Island Race is a single loop half marathon held on the coastal path of Mersea Island in Essex. The route is fully signed and fully supported with regular aid stations offering sweet and savoury fuel.
A proportion of the entry fee is allocated to the Mersea Island Lions charity to support community work. The event uses a cupless format; participants must provide their own cup. Collapsible speedcups are available to purchase on registration or race day for £2.50 each.
The entry fee structure gives participants the option to purchase a bespoke event medal separately. There is a four hour cut off for the course. Parking and toilet facilities are available in the vicinity of the start and finish, which are located at the what3words reference blacken.subtitle.hopping.

The Lions Club of Mersea Island was chartered in 1978, with aims to help the less fortunate within the community through Community Service, Fund-raising, and fellowship. They have been serving the community for 48 years.
