Roman Run - Brecon to Cyfarthfa Castle
The Roman Run is scheduled for 5 September 2026 and is a point-to-point road race starting in Brecon and finishing at Cyfarthfa Castle, Merthyr Tydfil. The course is approximately 16.37 miles long and includes about 2,015 feet of climb.
Entry details include affiliated and unaffiliated fees and an optional coach transfer from the finish back to the start for an extra charge. There is a race cutoff time of 4 hours 30 minutes; entrants should allow for the distance and terrain when planning. Entries cannot be refunded and deferrals are not offered, but transfers between entrants are permitted up to 28 August 2026. Coach transport changes and t-shirt size changes are not allowed after 31 July 2026. Race numbers are assigned after online entries close and will be published before the event.
On race day, registration desks are organised alphabetically by surname. Race numbers include timing chips and participants are asked to write emergency contact and medical information on the back. Baggage tags are provided and bags are transported to the finish. The event provides five water stations, a lead bike for the final 7 miles, a tail-end runner, first aid support, and is Welsh Athletics licensed. At the finish there are complimentary tea, coffee, and a sandwich; no showers are available.
