Robin Challenge
Robin Challenge is a six hour multi-lap running event held at Sence Valley Forest Park near Ibstock, Leicestershire (post code LE67 6NW). The route loops around the old mine landscape, including pools, young trees and a pine forest, and features several climbs. Laps start with a long downhill and finish by returning up the initial hill.
Underfoot the course is mainly crushed stone paths of varying condition with some grass sections that may be slippery or muddy when wet. The organiser advises preparing for trail shoes. Parking at the site is charged, reported as between £2.20 and £4.50 at the time of writing. The site is about 11 minutes from Ashby-De-La-Zouch and about 12 minutes from Junction 22 of the M1; the closest train station is Loughborough.
The event format allows participants to complete as many 3.3 mile laps as they wish within six hours. Canicross is permitted; dogs must be kept on short leads and be considerate of other participants. The organiser operates tiered entry fees with specified early and later prices and a small additional charge for unaffiliated entrants.
There is an option to receive a planted tree token instead of a medal. A route GPX is available, and an on-demand option exists to follow the route on another day with the official medal posted to participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

How far is the race?
You decide! The 3.3-mile off-road loop means your race can be 5k or even over 80K and anywhere in between. You decide how many laps you're going to do on the day within the 6-hour time limit. If you're looking to cover a marathon distance you'll need to complete 8 laps and a half marathon will be 4 laps, anything 9 laps and over is an ultramarathon!
