Race for Life Portsmouth at Southsea Common
Portsmouth Race for Life takes place on Southsea Common on Sunday 9 May 2027. The event is organised by Cancer Research UK and includes a set of chip-timed running distances.
The course is a flat, double-lap route around Southsea Common and Castle Field, with views of Ladies Mile. The route surface includes tarmac and grass. The start and finish are on the grass adjacent to Clarence Esplanade. The course can experience seafront congestion and includes inclines and declines with a maximum gradient of 16 percent; an alternative route may be used that avoids these sections and may shorten the course. On-site parking is not provided; Blue Badge parking is available on surrounding roads about 300 metres from the event site. Avenue de Caen will be closed as part of the route. The closest train station is Portsmouth & Southsea.
Entry includes a minimum fundraising target of £50. Earlybird prices are shown for adults and children. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training materials and a Race for Life medal on completion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
