Race for Life Blackpool
Race for Life Blackpool takes place on Blackpool Promenade, with the start and finish next to the Comedy Carpet at the base of Blackpool Tower on the Tower Festival Headland. The main 10k follows a new 2026 course that uses surfaced promenade paths and consists of two laps of the 5k route. The route runs toward North Pier along the lower promenade with individual U-turns, climbs past the Hole in the Wall Café to the middle promenade, reaches a U-turn beyond the go-karting area and the war memorial, then repeats the same loop to the finish.
The course is predominantly flat with one short section of steep incline. Start and finish are on flat, hardstanding terrain. An alternative route is provided for wheelchair users and prams, and the event has been assessed as wheelchair accessible with assistance. Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets, dogs allowed, suitability for pushchairs, and wheelchair access. There is no designated event parking or blue badge parking; a drop-off point is provided on the evening of the event and local car parks should be used for parking. Public transport options include nearby bus and tram links and a train station approximately 1.2 miles away.

Event details

The new 2026 course begins and ends at the iconic Blackpool Tower by the Comedy Carpet. Participants run towards North Pier, follow the lower promenade with individual U‑turns, then climb past the Hole in the Wall Café to the middle promenade before racing back to the finish. The 10k route features a U‑turn beyond the go karting area, reaching the war memorial before starting a second lap on the same route to the finish.

Travel information
By car: There is no designated parking available at this event. Please use local car parks. A drop off point will be provided on the evening of the event close to the Comedy Carpet. Please follow event signage and the stewards will direct you. There is no designated blue badge parking available at this event. Please use local car parks with blue badge parking. Volunteer parking is also unavailable; please use local car parks.
Public transport and pedestrians: The closest entrance to the event site for pedestrians on foot is off the A584. Blackpool Bus Station is approximately 700m's from the Comedy Carpet. A tram service is available from the bus station to the venue. Blackpool North Train Station is approximately 1.2 miles from the Comedy Carpet. A tram service is available from outside the station to the venue.

This route has been assessed as wheelchair accessible with assistance. Sunflower wristbands are available at the enquiries marquee, and our Event Managers are trained Dementia Friends.
