Purdown Pursuit
Purdown Pursuit is a 10 km trail running race around Stoke Park organised by Town and Country Harriers. The event is based at Countess Walk in Stapleton, Bristol and race headquarters are located at a gazebo on the green in front of Countess Walk. Half of the event proceeds are donated to a local charity.
The course is fully marked and marshals will be in place. The route has been altered from previous years and a GPX file is available for reference, though the final race day route is subject to confirmation. The organisers describe the terrain as having steep climbs, hard ground, tree roots and rocks. They note that it is likely to be warm and recommend that runners consider carrying water and use appropriate trail footwear.
Entries open on Wednesday 8 April 2026 and close on Monday 13 July 2026. The minimum age for entry is 18. Entry fees are listed as Affiliated £14.00 and Unaffiliated £16.00. Registration and issue of race numbers and timing chips take place at Countess Walk.
The event follows England Athletics eligibility guidelines for categories. The Male category has been renamed Open to include male and non binary entrants. The Female category excludes transgender women unless they have approval from England Athletics. Prize categories include first to third in Open and Female and first V40, V50, V60 and V70 plus in both Open and Female. Guide runners may accompany visually impaired or disabled runners and are offered free entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
